What's a dog to do? Sure, your dog enjoys a nice day at home—relaxing and doing nothing. It's a dog's life! There's only one thing more that a dog enjoys—fun in the Southern California sun with a bunch of other dogs! The Animal Keeper offers Doggie Day Camp—an exclusive program designed with your dog in mind. We give them a balance of exercise, socializing and fun with our Day Camp staff.

We also offer Camp Tiny Tots

Another exclusive service for small dogs. We know that little ones are a bit intimidated by big dogs and we want all our guests to have fun! Drop by the nearest Animal Keeper and see for yourself how much fun these dogs are having. For a lot less than you think, you can give your "best friend" a day or two (or seven) of Day Camp. They'll thank you for it!

Playtime

While your pet is staying at the Animal Keeper, give them a special gift of extra "Playtime". Extra playtime is offered to all pets during their stay. For a small daily fee a staff member will throw a ball, run and play or just sit and love your friend as many times a day as you request. Extra playtime for dogs is outdoors on grassy lawns and our feline friends enjoy their extra pampering indoors. They'll thank you for it! Please, don't forget to sign up your best friend up for some extra "Playtime"!

Grooming

Bring your pet in to one of our three locations to enjoy full service grooming. Whether staying at the Animal Keeper or just coming in for grooming, your pet will benefit from and enjoy the treatments that we offer. Our commitment is to help ensure your pet's health by providing services that promote good hygiene from nails to coat.

What grooming includes—Every pet groomed, has its nails cut, pads trimmed, ears cleaned and is bathed. They are then blown dry.

Hydrosurge® Pet Bathing System

This system offers a major breakthrough in pet bathing technology. Hydrosurge provides your pet with an invigorating massage while providing the most thorough cleaning process ever available. Additionally, Hydrosurge enhances the effectiveness of coat and skin treatments.

Shed-RELIEF Treatments

One of the major problems with pet ownership is piles of pet hair everywhere. Pet hair is more than an annoyance. A hair filled environment presents a hygiene problem and is unhealthy for anyone with allergies. At the Animal Keeper, our trained Shed-RELIEF Technicians follow a six-step treatment process using specialized Shed-RELIEF products and tools. The treatment includes a thorough brushing with the best brushes and combs for each pet's particular coat type, and a Hydrosurge Pet Bath with special shampoos and conditioners to moisturize the skin and coat. To complete the process, an anti-shedding solution is applied. You will really notice a difference in the reduction of pet hair on your furniture and clothing. Try it—you'll love it. Medicated Shampoos

If your pet is suffering from Seborrhea or Flea Bite Dermatitis, we can recommend a special medicated shampoo for your pet's treatment.

Coat Conditioners

During your pet's bath we can apply a conditioner to its coat which will add luster and sheen. In addition to enhancing the appearance of the coat, a conditioner will provide essential oils to the hair and skin.

Flea and Tick Treatments

Whenever treating a pet for fleas we recommend the pet owner treat the home, yard and car to ensure successful eradication. If your pet is on an oral or topical flea treatment, please inform us.

Nail Trimming

Nails are trimmed whenever pets are groomed at the Animal Keeper, however this service can also be performed between regular grooming appointments.

ENCINITAS and POWAY TRAINING

Of all the things you do for your pet, one of the most important and caring steps is to include a complete training program for them. For your family pet or competition obedience dog we offer a complete, professional training program. Our classes are conducted by experienced NADOI instructors using safe, humane methods. Our training yard is fenced and well lit, so that we can offer a variety of classes that meet your schedule requirements.

GROUP CLASSES

Puppy classes

Available for vaccinated pets between ten and sixteen weeks of age. Puppies are introduced to basic commands. Owners and puppies learn how to get off to a good start. Socialization and early behavior training is stressed and several topics are covered in detail.

Vaccinations required: 2 Sets of Shots

Beginners classes

For dogs over four months of age are for basic commands such as heel, sit, down, stay, and come. Problem solving is discussed and topics covered include: barking, digging, chewing, and jumping on people. Advanced training for competition, inducive retrieve, hand signals and much more are also offered.

Vaccinations required: All Shots.
